We were contacted by Laura, the Founder and Managing Director of the award-winning Wild Spirit Canines CIC, who shared a message that moved us deeply. She reached out to thank Doggy Armour for the part it played in her assistance dog Summer’s incredible journey.
In 2020, Summer was the victim of a terrifying attack by an off-lead dog. But thanks to her Doggy Armour coat, the physical damage was minimised, and that changed everything.
Laura firmly believes that protecting Summer from severe injury helped her avoid developing long-term fear or trauma. With no lasting effects from the attack, Summer was able to continue her training and go on to become an outstanding assistance dog.
🌟 A Life of Service
Since then, Summer has led a remarkable life. She supported Laura through university, confidently took to the stage during graduation, and worked as a highly successful demonstration dog for Wild Spirit Canines CIC, inspiring countless handlers and their dogs in training.
She’s attended prestigious events, served with unwavering dedication, and even had the honour of meeting His Majesty the King when the organisation received the National Prince's Trust Award in 2024.
